Ideas for Kids Birthday Parties
Planning a kids birthday party can be a difficult and time consuming task, and you will probably feel under a lot of pressure to make sure all of the kids are entertained and well fed, and that your birthday boy or girl has a good time. Piñatas Party – Piñatas are papier-mâché containers (usually in the shape of animals), which are filled with sweets or small gifts. These are the highlight of many kid’s parties in Latin American countries, as they are hung from beams or tree branches, and then the kids take turns to hit the Piñatas (usually wearing blind folds so everyone stand back!). Whoever breaks the Piñatas gets to keep the prizes and share them with friends. Make your own small Piñatas at home by blowing up a dozen balloons, and then dip strips of newspaper into PVA glue and cover the balloons in layers. Leave to dry overnight and then pop the balloons and cut a small hole in the top of the papier-mâché shell, and then paint or cover with tissue papers in bright colours (your kids can help with this part). Leave to dry and then fill with sweets, goodies and bright streamers and glitter (this will look more impressive when it bursts). Pierce the small piece you cut out from the top and thread through some sturdy string, then glue this over the hole to finish off so it is ready to be hung up.
