Most of us know that breastfeed is helpful for both mother and her toddler. But many mothers ignore the truth. There is a very important reason why mothers should breastfeed their babies because it may prevent the kid from developing heart disease in its future life.

Recently a study has discovered that babies who get breastfed at least for the recommended six months, they have lower cholesterol levels in later life. Moreover it cut their risk of contracting coronary artery disease.

The researchers find out that early exposure to the high cholesterol content of human milk affects how one’s body copes with cholesterol in the long-term. On the other hand, Dr Chris Owen said, “Initial breastfeeding, particularly when exclusive, is associated with lower blood cholesterol concentrations in later life, compared to initial formula feeding,” in ‘The Daily Telegraph’.

Dr Owen along with colleagues at University of London made the conclusion after analyzing the data of over 17,000 adult people in Britain. The team got those who were breastfed absolutely had lower cholesterol levels than those who only fed on formula milk.

Dr Owen added, every woman should breastfeed her toddler if she can since the proven long-term benefits for her child health. If truth be told, those women who breastfeed have a lower risk level of developing breast cancer than others and babies are also less probable to be obese.

This study proof that breastfeeding has a long-term health benefits for one’s toddler and reduce her health risk as well.  So every mother should careful about breastfeeding and provide it her child sufficiently in stead of formula milk.
